History....
I decided to start working as a Freelance Designer and established Wilday Partnership in 1988, after the company I was working for, Clements & Street Limited, was sold and the work force drastically reduced
I then worked with a number of different exhibition companies and clients, using an Apple computer and a dot matrix printer. During this time, I used the following software:
Claris CAD in 1985, then MiniCAD in 1988, which became Vectorworks.
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Aldus Pagemaker, later to be brought by Adobe, and Paracomp ModelShop - a 3D modelling programme.
Over the next few years studios started to replace drawing boards with computers.
I started to look at different rendering software to stay ahead of the game, to find one that I could export my designs out of Vectorworks. Choosing Artlantis, this allowed graphic panels to be included in the design presentation and the client’s saw these as representing the finished product. This enabled me help build a better working relationship with clients and start to be more understanding of their graphic needs.
In 2000, I was asked to join Clements & Street again, to run the Design Studio, giving me the chance to develop the 3D software. In 2002, I altered the render software to Maxon Cinema 4D, this was an big improvement as it was possible to modify the design in Cinema 4D without going back into Vectorworks. The next step in the software development was to add Chaos V-Ray into Cinema renders, which gave a realistic visual impression of the lighting.
In November 2023, just as the studio was settled and working well, the company went into Liquidation
I am now back working freelance, offering my design service to produce designs including:
Exhibition Stands
Interiors
Detail Drawings
Graphic Design Ideas - logos to adverts, record covers
Also Original Artwork and 3D items
